Preorder Information

Flirting With Fiction loves hosting preorder campaigns for our community. To ensure a smooth experience, please review our fulfillment timelines before placing your order:

  • Standard Preorders: Regular preorders are prepared for dispatch during the week of their official publication release date.
  • Signed & Personalized Editions: Preorders for signed or personalized copies require dedicated processing. These shipments may experience a slight delay while we coordinate directly with the author to ensure your books are beautifully signed and personalized.
  • Multiple Preorders in a Single Order: If you purchase multiple preorder items with different release dates in a single checkout transaction, your entire order will be held and shipped together in one single package once the final book on the order is officially released. If you prefer to receive each book during its specific release week, please place separate orders for each individual preorder item.

International Shipping & Customs

Flirting With Fiction ships all international orders via USPS to provide the most reliable and cost-effective service for the community. Please note that shipping rates calculated at checkout cover transportation only.

  • Duties & Taxes: Your order may be subject to import duties, local taxes (VAT/GST), and administrative fees as determined by the destination country's customs authority. These charges are the recipient's responsibility and must be paid upon delivery. Flirting With Fiction cannot predict or prepay these fees.
  • Final Sale: All international sales are final. Flirting With Fiction is not responsible for customs delays or unpaid fees.
  • Returns: If a package is returned to our store due to unpaid duties, a refusal to accept the delivery, or an incorrect address, original shipping costs are non-refundable.

Transfer of Liability

Flirting With Fiction takes great care in securely preparing and packing your orders. Please note that our legal liability transfers immediately upon carrier acceptance. 

For all direct international shipments, Flirting With Fiction is not responsible for packages that are lost, damaged, delayed, or stolen once they have been scanned into the custody of the United States Postal Service (USPS) or its international postal delivery partners. In the event of a transit issue, customers must file a claim directly with the postal carrier using the tracking information provided at the time of fulfillment.

Country-Specific Notices

Germany
Flirting With Fiction is fully registered with the LUCID Packaging Register (DE3038813696044) and partners with Reclay Systems GmbH for packaging recycling compliance in Germany. Packages are prepared to meet all German customs requirements for imported books.

Sweden
Flirting With Fiction complies with the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Naturvårdsverket) distance selling regulations and maintains a packaging recycling contract via the European Recycling Platform (ERP) Sweden. Orders containing printed literature qualify for Sweden's reduced 6% book VAT rate, though accompanying promotional items are subject to standard import tax thresholds upon border arrival.

International Package Forwarding Policy

If Flirting With Fiction does not currently ship directly to a specific country, customers are welcome to utilize a third-party forwarding service located in any region currently serviced by the store (such as the United States or Germany).

Please note the following terms before placing an order:

  • Separate Shipping Fees: The shipping fee paid at the FWF checkout covers delivery to the designated forwarding hub only. The forwarding service will charge a separate, additional fee to transport the package from their warehouse to the final international destination.
  • Weight & Surcharges: Customers are responsible for reviewing their chosen forwarder’s weight limits and available shipping methods (e.g., air vs. surface) prior to purchase to avoid unexpected surcharges.
  • Import Taxes & Duties: The forwarding service may bill the customer for Import VAT (Tax) or customs duties paid on their behalf upon the package's arrival at the hub. These fees are the sole responsibility of the customer and must be settled before the package is released.
  • Forwarder Liability: Once an order is marked as "Delivered" to the chosen forwarding hub, the fulfillment obligation of Flirting With Fiction is complete. FWF is not responsible for any subsequent damage, loss, or transit delays that occur during the final leg of the journey handled by the third-party provider.

We highly recommend customers confirm all potential fees and policies with their specific forwarding service before finalizing a purchase with FWF.
